Armidale Women’s March 4 Justice

On Monday, March 15th we marched to end gendered violence. Now we need to ensure our elected representatives listen!

Our Demands

On Monday, March 15th, we presented a letter of demands to a representative of Adam Marshall MPs office, and via email to Barnaby Joyce MP. You can read both the letters at the links below.

Enough is Enough! What Next?

Marching in Armidale was just the beginning of ensuring we are heard and listened to. The next thing we need to do is follow up with our elected representatives and continue to pressure them to listen to our voices, and follow through on our demands. We can do this via email, phone calls and mail. We can’t let our state and federal MPs move on and ignore us!

Unsure What To Say To Your MPs?

While personalised communications to our MPs will have a greater impact, it can be hard sometimes to find the right words. We’ve put together a short form letter you can use as the basis for your letter, phone call or email to your local MPs.

Dear [Insert MPs Name]

The Women’s March4Justice on Monday the 15th of March 2021 was just the beginning of women fighting to ensure their voices will be heard. We will continue to make our voices heard: in public spaces, in our communities, in parliament and at the ballot box; until significant, substantial and lasting change is made. Enough is Enough!

I am writing to you to inform you of my support for the demands delivered to your office by those who marched in Armidale. I hope that you will support the women in your electorate, and ensure you do all you can to end gendered violence, misogyny, and sexism in our communities, workplaces and parliaments.

[Insert a sentence or two about why this is important to you or what demands you see as most urgent.]

Kind Regards
